The Blaklader shell jacket is designed as an outer protective layer for anyone working outdoors in wind and rain, whether on a roof, a building site or on the road as a driver. It layers easily over other garments while moving moisture away from the body, so things stay comfortable underneath rather than clammy. An extended back keeps the jacket in place even when bending or moving around on the job.
The outer fabric is coated polyester oxford with taped seams, which stop water getting in exactly where stitching would otherwise let it through. In practical terms that means a jacket that stays reliably dry in sustained rain while its breathability keeps the microclimate inside comfortable rather than sweaty. Adjustable cuffs with thumbholes and a drawcord with stopper at the hem let you fine-tune the fit and shut out draughts. The detachable hood with mesh lining can be added or removed depending on conditions and the task at hand.
