The Portwest CompositeLite Montana is a safety boot built in a hiking-boot shape, designed for anyone who works on uneven or demanding terrain but still needs full S3 protection. Instead of a traditional boot silhouette, it features a technically engineered ankle support and a pull tab at the heel for easy on-off wear, making it a strong choice for long outdoor shifts where mobility matters.
The upper is made from waterproof nubuck full-grain leather, which keeps moisture out reliably without feeling stiff or restrictive underfoot. A bellows tongue construction adds further resistance against water ingress from the sides. Thanks to the quality leather and careful construction, the boot holds up well under frequent use while staying noticeably lighter than conventional safety footwear.
Protection is rated to S3 standard: a glass-fibre toe cap guards against impact and compression, while a puncture-resistant composite midsole shields the foot from sharp objects underfoot. The HRO rating means the outsole withstands heat up to 300°C, and SRC certification confirms slip resistance on ceramic and steel surfaces. The dual-density sole also resists fuel and oil and improves cushioning, working alongside the energy-absorbing heel area to reduce impact on long days.
