The PLANAM Major Protect TDL jacket is protective workwear designed for anyone regularly exposed to sparks, heat or open flame on the job. Part of the Major Protect collection, it is built for professionals who need dependable protection without giving up freedom of movement or everyday comfort. Available from size 42 to 110, it covers a wide range of wearers.
The fabric is a blend of cotton, polyester and a small proportion of carbon fibres, woven as a sturdy 2/2 diagonal twill with a weight of around 370 g/m². The front and sleeve sections are reinforced with a double layer of fabric, adding extra durability exactly where the jacket takes the most wear. A front opening with buttons, plus chest and front pockets closed with press-stud flaps, keep the layout practical for daily work.
The real value lies in how the fabric is finished: it is anti-static, flame-retardant and treated with a fluorocarbon finish. Being anti-static means the garment does not build up electrostatic charge, which matters wherever flammable or explosive substances are present. The flame-retardant finish lowers the risk of the jacket catching fire on contact with heat or flames, while the fluorocarbon treatment makes liquids such as weld spatter bead off the surface instead of soaking into the fabric.
This makes the jacket well suited to sectors such as metalworking, electrical and building services installation, municipal services and road construction, as well as chemical and oil industry work where heat and welding protection are required.
