The Major Protect dungarees from PLANAM are built for anyone who works around flying sparks, heat or open flames. Part of the Major Protect protective clothing range, they are designed for professionals in metalworking, electrical and building services installation, municipal road construction, and jobs involving chemicals or oil. Available in royal blue/grey from size 42 to 110, they cover a wide range of wearers.

The fabric is made from 64% cotton, 35% polyester and 1% carbon fibres in a 2/2 diagonal twill weave with a weight of around 370 g/m². The result is a hard-wearing yet flexible material that stays comfortable over long shifts. The antistatic fibres prevent the garment from building up an electrostatic charge, while the fluorocarbon finish makes liquids such as sweat or welding beads bead off the surface instead of soaking in.

In practical terms, this means the dungarees protect against flying sparks, heat and flames thanks to the flame-retardant finish, and the antistatic properties lower the risk of uncontrolled discharge on site. The protection is backed up by thoughtful construction details: an adjustable waistband with buttons, a button fly, clip buckles and a stretchy back panel allow freedom of movement, while two vertical front pockets, a bib pocket with flap, a thigh pocket and two rear pockets with press-stud flaps provide plenty of room for tools and small items.
