The Portwest Kompositelite is a lace-up safety trainer made from microfibre, designed for anyone on their feet in kitchens, catering, food processing or pharmaceutical settings. It is entirely metal-free, yet built to protect just as reliably as a traditional steel-toe safety shoe - a real advantage anywhere metal detectors are part of daily routine.
The microfibre upper wipes clean easily, which makes a real difference during busy shifts, and its water-repellent finish helps keep moisture from soaking through. Inside, an antimicrobial lining works alongside the antibacterially treated, perforated insole to keep feet feeling fresh even after long hours on the job. A padded collar around the ankle adds comfort throughout the day, and as a fully vegan shoe, no animal-derived materials are used anywhere in its construction.
Protection comes from a composite toe cap that, unlike steel, is non-magnetic and free of nickel and iron - a genuine benefit around metal detectors or sensitive electronics. The antistatic properties help dissipate electrical charge, while the fuel- and oil-resistant dual-density outsole and energy-absorbing seat area support stability and comfort underfoot. The SRC-rated outsole delivers reliable slip resistance on ceramic and steel flooring, exactly the kind of surfaces found in commercial kitchens and production areas. The shoe is CE certified and UKCA marked.
