This sweatshirt jacket from Blaklader is built for people facing more than one hazard on the job at once, such as electricians, mechanics, service technicians and tradespeople who need visibility, heat and flame protection, and freedom of movement all in one garment. Depending on size it meets hi-vis class 2 or class 3, and it can also be worn as a stand-alone jacket, which makes it a genuinely flexible piece of workwear.
The knit fabric combines modacrylic, cotton and a small share of antistatic fibre, brushed on the inside into a soft, terry-like finish. That means comfort against the skin even with all the protective properties built in, and at 280 g/m² it is sturdy enough to hold up to regular use on site. Side inserts and the ergonomic fit keep movement unrestricted during physical work, while the concealed zip and the high, foldable collar add extra protection against the elements without any metal parts to cause interference or risk.
The certifications cover several hazard areas at once: EN ISO 20471 provides high visibility on roads and construction sites, EN ISO 11612 protects against heat and flame, EN 61482-2 covers work with a risk of electric arc exposure, and EN 1149-5 gives antistatic properties that help prevent dangerous static build-up. The segmented, flame-resistant reflective transfers boost visibility further without compromising the flexibility of the fabric.
This makes the jacket a strong fit for people working near power sources, electric arcs or open flame who also need to be seen, such as road workers, electricians and technical service staff.
