This softshell vest from Blaklader is built for anyone who needs extra protection in cold, wind and wet conditions without giving up freedom of movement. Worn as an insulating layer, it compensates for cold working conditions while packing multiple safety certifications into a single garment, something that is hard to find combined this way. The extended back keeps the vest in place even when bending or moving around.
The 3-layer softshell fabric is a blend of modacrylic, cotton, polyamide, polyurethane and aramid, and the whole vest is built without metal components. In daily use that translates into a wind- and water-resistant outer layer combined with solid breathability, plus a surface that resists oil and dirt rather than absorbing it. Bound edges at the cuffs and hem keep the fit clean, and the concealed two-way plastic zipper can still be operated while wearing gloves.
The certifications are not an afterthought here, they are the actual point of this vest. EN ISO 11612 and EN ISO 11611 confirm inherent flame resistance and welding protection, EN 61482-2 covers arc flash hazards, EN 13034 protects against certain chemical splashes, and EN 1149-5 provides antistatic properties. EN ISO 20471 adds high-visibility protection, with the certified class varying by size. Two gas loops on the chest let you attach a gas detector, oxygen meter or microphone without strapping extra gear to your body.
