These Inherent bib overalls from Blaklader are built for people facing more than one hazard on the job at once: electricians, road and construction workers, and tradespeople who need protection against flame, arc flash and poor visibility all in one garment. The flame resistance is not a coating but is woven directly into the fibre structure, so it stays effective for the working life of the trousers.
The fabric blend of modacrylic, FR viscose, polyester, cotton and aramid forms a double-woven ripstop material that feels soft and flexible to wear despite its protective role, with very good tear strength. The outer knee pad pockets are reinforced with CORDURA®/Kevlar®/Protal®, and the exposed pockets are made from double-layered fabric, both of which keep the garment holding up at the points that see the most wear. Elasticated braces and an adjustable waist keep comfort high even with all this protective build-up.
The certifications cover a wide range of risks: EN ISO 11612 protects against heat and flame, EN ISO 11611 covers hazards from welding work, EN 61482-2 addresses the effects of an electric arc flash, and EN 13034 protects against contact with certain chemicals. EN 1149-5 provides antistatic properties, while the EN ISO 20471 Class 1 rating gives a first level of high-visibility performance for roadside work. Together, these standards make the overalls suited to environments where several of these hazards can occur at the same time.
A generous set of practical pockets, from a rule pocket with knife holder to a phone pocket with pen slot, keeps everyday usability intact alongside all that protective equipment on site.
