This Blaklader shell jacket is cut specifically for women and designed for anyone working outdoors in tough conditions, whether on construction sites, road work, roofing or driving jobs. The pre-shaped sleeves and women's fit give it a shape that standard hi-vis jackets often lack, without sacrificing freedom of movement on the job.
The outer shell is made from coated polyester Oxford fabric that is both waterproof and windproof while still allowing the body to breathe. In practice, this means rain and wind stay out while moisture from inside can escape, so the jacket does not feel clammy even during physical work. Taped seams further stop water from seeping through the stitching. The lightweight lining keeps the jacket comfortable to wear without adding bulk or excess warmth, and hidden zips at the back can be opened for extra ventilation when needed. An adjustable waist with drawcord, hook-and-loop cuff adjusters and inner cuffs with a thumb hole all help the jacket sit close to the body, even in windy conditions.
The jacket meets EN 343 for protection against rain and wind, making it suitable for extended outdoor use. It is also certified as high visibility workwear to EN ISO 20471, rated Class 2 in sizes XS and S and Class 3 from size M upwards, meaning good to very good visibility in daylight and under vehicle headlights, which matters for anyone working near traffic or heavy machinery. Wide reflective strips across the body, sleeves and shoulders reinforce this visibility further.
With zipped side, chest and inner pockets plus a D-ring for attaching gear, the jacket is built with practical trade and site work in mind. The hood is not permanently attached but can be added separately depending on the weather and the job at hand, letting the jacket adapt to different working conditions.
