The GECKO is a safety shoe from Blaklader designed for anyone who needs reliable, well-fitting footwear on construction sites, in workshops or out on service calls. It comes in a unisex last with a wide fit, and for sizes 35 to 39 a women's last is also available, so the shoe can be matched more closely to different foot shapes. The Freelock closure makes putting the shoes on and taking them off noticeably easier, a small detail that pays off when you're lacing up several times a day.
The microfibre upper is reinforced all around with a KPU coating, so it holds up well in rough working environments. The nitrile rubber outsole is built for durability while also being heat-resistant and oil-repellent, which makes it a solid choice when you're moving across different surfaces and dealing with grease or spills. Inside, an anatomically shaped soft PU insole with a moisture-absorbing textile surface keeps things comfortable over long shifts, and the polyester lining helps maintain a pleasant climate inside the shoe. The padded shaft edge and reinforced heel add extra stability to the fit.
The GECKO meets EN ISO 20345 at safety rating S3, with the additional ratings SRC, HRO and ESD. In practical terms that means slip-resistant soles under SRC, a heat-resistant outsole under HRO, and an electrostatic discharge function tested to ESD, further approved to IEC 61340-5-1. The composite toe cap guards against impact and compression, while the textile penetration-resistant midsole meets EN 22568-4 against 3 mm nails, without the extra weight of a metal insert.
That combination makes the shoe well suited to tradespeople in construction, transport, maintenance, repair and service work, including electricians, roofers, installers, sheet metal workers, mechanics and service technicians, as well as those working in oil and gas environments where both ESD protection and oil resistance matter.
