The Corby oven mitt is a practical companion for anyone handling hot pots, trays and baking dishes – whether in a busy commercial kitchen or at home. Measuring 16 x 31 cm, it offers generous coverage for hand and forearm, and comes in the warm toffee shade shown here as well as four further colours.
Made from waxed cotton, the mitt combines the grip and feel of a fabric glove with a water-repellent finish. The wax coating helps splashes and moisture bead off rather than soak straight in, which makes a real difference during a busy service. The coating can be refreshed with new wax whenever needed, so the mitt keeps performing even after regular use. It washes at 30°C and should only be ironed on a low setting without steam; tumble drying, bleaching and dry cleaning are all off the table to protect both the cotton and the wax layer.
Whether in catering kitchens, bakeries or at home by the oven, the Corby mitt earns its keep wherever a sturdy, weather-resistant grip is needed without giving up the familiar feel of cotton.
