The Corby oven mitt is a classic kitchen glove made from waxed cotton, sized at a practical 16 x 31 cm. It suits anyone who regularly handles hot pots, trays or oven doors in a professional kitchen or at home, and its understated bottle green colour makes it equally at home in commercial and domestic settings. As it comes in five different colours, it can also be matched to existing kitchen textiles or a company's colour scheme.
The cotton fabric is finished with a wax coating that makes it durable and water-repellent, a genuine benefit in daily kitchen use: splashes and moisture bead off rather than soaking straight through. The wax layer naturally wears down over time but can be renewed as needed, so the glove keeps its protective qualities over a long working life. It can be washed at 30°C and ironed only at a low temperature without steam, while tumble drying, bleaching and dry cleaning should be avoided – following these simple care instructions keeps the mitt in good shape for years.
