The Inherent Steel APC 2 winter jacket from Blaklader is built for work where heat, sparks or molten metal are part of the daily routine. It is aimed at tradespeople, electricians and service technicians who need reliable protection and warmth in cold working environments. The insulated lining keeps you warm during outdoor winter work or in unheated halls, while the pre-shaped sleeves and extended back keep the jacket in place during overhead work or when crouching.
The fabric is a blend of modacrylic, cotton, polyamide, aramid and an antistatic fibre in a twill weave, and the flame resistance is inherent, meaning it is built into the fibre itself rather than applied as a coating. At 320 g/m², the fabric is sturdy enough for daily use on site or in the workshop, and the jacket is also oil, dirt and water repellent, which cuts down on maintenance during everyday use. Practical details such as the concealed side pockets with metal snap buttons, the reinforced metal zip and the loops for gas detector, oxygen meter and microphone show that this jacket is made for continuous professional use.
The certifications cover a wide range of hazards: EN ISO 11612 protects against heat and flame, EN ISO 11611 is the standard for welding work, EN 13034 provides limited protection against chemical splashes, and EN 1149-5 gives the jacket antistatic properties that matter in explosive atmospheres.
