These rain trousers from Blaklader are built for anyone working outdoors in bad weather who still needs freedom of movement on the job. They suit tradespeople, gardeners, and road and construction workers who need rugged yet flexible rainwear with reliable high-visibility protection. Adjustable, detachable braces with elastic, a wide elastic waistband at the back, and adjustable leg ends with buttons let the trousers fit a range of body shapes and working conditions.
The outer fabric is 100% PU-coated polyester weighing 240 g/m², giving the trousers a sturdy feel without being stiff to move in. The seams are taped rather than simply stitched, so there are no needle holes for water to seep through. Reinforcements at the knees and calves protect the areas that see the most wear, such as when kneeling or brushing against rough surfaces. The bellows leg pocket with flap, the ruler pocket with extra pocket and knife holder, and the opening that lets tool pockets hang out keep tools within easy reach without restricting movement.
The trousers are certified to EN 343, the standard for protective clothing against bad weather, meeting class 4,1 for waterproofness. They are also certified to EN ISO 20471 class 2 for high-visibility clothing, backed up by 65 mm wide reflective tape that improves visibility in poor light conditions. Note that colours 4600 and 9900 of this model are not certified to EN ISO 20471.
This makes the trousers well suited to road and civil engineering work, landscaping and groundskeeping, and any outdoor trade where rain and poor visibility are a regular part of the working day.
