The Weld Shield dungarees from PLANAM's collection of the same name are built for anyone working in the metalworking trade, chemical handling, or environments involving oil and heat where dependable welding protection matters. Available in 18 sizes from 42 to 110 and in grey/black or cornflower blue/black, the dungarees can be matched to a wide range of body types.
The fabric is made from 84% cotton, 15% polyester and 1% carbon fibres, with a weight of around 365 g/m². This blend results in a sturdy yet wearable material that stays comfortable even through long shifts without chafing or restricting movement. The carbon fibres woven into the fabric give it anti-static properties, a real advantage in environments where sparks are a constant risk. Practical details make daily wear easier too: the waistband and fly close with sewn-on buttons, the waist width can be adjusted the same way, and the elastic waistband adds extra freedom of movement. The braces, fitted with an elastic insert, stay comfortable even with frequent bending and stretching.
The fabric has a flame-retardant finish that stops it from continuing to burn on contact with open flame or flying sparks - a key safety factor during welding work.
