The Kuma is a base-level safety shoe from the HYGIENE collection, designed for anyone working in sensitive environments where metal parts or magnetic interference are a concern. It is fully non-magnetic and free of nickel and iron, making it well suited to settings with strict material purity requirements, such as food processing or technical cleanrooms.
The upper is waterproof, and the rubber outsole is slip-resistant as well as fuel- and oil-resistant, with the shoe also offering hydrocarbon resistance. In practice, this means protection from moisture from outside and reliable grip on floors contaminated with oil, fuel or other liquids. The orthopaedic, custom-shaped footbed keeps the shoe comfortable even during long shifts, and it comes in both men's and women's width fittings for a better fit across different foot shapes.
The Kuma meets the EN ISO 20345:2022 standard at protection class S2, with the additional FO and SR features: an enclosed heel area with energy absorption, a waterproof upper, and an outsole that resists fuel and reduces the risk of slipping. The toe cap withstands an impact of 200 joules, the sole is puncture-resistant, and heel cushioning reduces strain with every step. The shoe is also antistatic, and its footbed complies with the European standard DGUV 112-191.
This makes the Kuma a strong choice for workers in production, food processing, cleanrooms and technical environments where both mechanical protection and material purity matter.
