This high vis hood from Blaklader is built for anyone who needs extra head protection in wind and rain without losing visibility on the job. It is cut to be worn over a beanie and pairs with a wide range of jackets, from lightweight shell jackets to winter jackets such as the 4760, 4435 and 4455. It is not designed to be worn over a helmet. The size guide is matched to jacket sizing, making it straightforward to pick the right hood size for the jacket you already wear.
The hood is made from 100% polyester in a twill weave with added stretch, coated and fitted with a polyester lining. The fabric is waterproof to 11,000 mm and windproof, while a Ret value of 6.3 keeps it breathable so moisture does not build up on the inside. The seams are taped, which reinforces the waterproofing and stops water getting in at the stitch lines. In practice that means a hood that stays dry through sustained rain while still feeling light rather than stiff or bulky, and it is stated by the manufacturer to be Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified.
Reflective details on the hood add visibility in low light or poor conditions, backing up the signal effect of the yellow, orange or red high vis colour. That combination makes the hood a practical choice for anyone working outdoors in changeable weather who needs to stay visible, such as on construction sites, road works or civil engineering projects where high vis gear is already standard practice.
