This hi-vis trouser from Blaklader is built for tradesmen, road workers and construction crews who need to keep working outdoors regardless of the weather. The 3-layer softshell fabric pairs high-visibility colouring with a cut designed for freedom of movement, making it a practical choice for anyone who can't simply walk off site when it starts raining.
The outer material is 100% polyester at 300 g/m², giving it a solid, durable feel without being stiff or heavy to wear. It's waterproof to 17,000mm and windproof, while a Ret value of 7.2 keeps it breathable, letting moisture escape even though the seams aren't taped. The knee pad pockets, back pockets, ruler pocket and leg pockets are all reinforced with CORDURA, so the areas that take the most wear and tear last considerably longer. The fabric also carries Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification, meaning it's been tested for harmful substances.
The trousers are certified to EN ISO 20471 Class 2 and fall under certification group Y, meaning that when worn with a matching top, they meet the requirements for high-visibility clothing used in roadwork and on construction sites. 70mm-wide reflective tape and reflective trim around the legs help keep the wearer visible in poor light. Combined with certain knee pads, the trousers also meet EN 14404-3, the standard for knee protection.
The trousers come with extra-wide, angled tool pockets with multiple compartments, a ruler pocket with a knife holder and pen pocket, and loops for a hammer holder and a phone. That makes them a solid pick for anyone on a building site or road crew who needs tools within easy reach without giving up visibility or weather protection.
