These painter's trousers from Blaklader are built for painters and other tradespeople who spend the day moving between tasks and need to stay visible while doing it. The thin 2-way stretch fabric with 4-way stretch inserts gives freedom of movement for the bending, reaching and ladder work that painting involves, without the trousers feeling heavy or stiff.
The fabric is a polyester, cotton and Elastofin twill weave with a fairly substantial 260 g/m² weight, which is typical for durable workwear. The tool pockets, back pockets and folding rule pocket are reinforced with CORDURA®, making these high-wear areas noticeably more resistant to abrasion. The knee pad pocket, filled from below, is also made from reinforced CORDURA® stretch fabric, staying flexible even during long stretches of kneeling work.
The trousers meet EN ISO 20471 Class 1, providing a basic level of high-visibility protection through the high-vis colouring and the reflective details around the legs. Class 1 is the entry level of the visibility standard and suits lower-risk environments, useful when painting work overlaps with time spent on a wider construction site.
With leg pockets shaped specifically for a filling knife and brush, a knife holder and a removable ID pocket, these trousers are clearly built around a painter's daily routine, though the stretch comfort and rugged pocket layout will suit other trades just as well.
