These women's work trousers from Blaklader are built for environments where several hazards overlap: heat and flame, electric arc exposure, chemical splashes and poor visibility. They are designed for electricians, tradeswomen and staff working in road construction, building sites, or the oil and gas industry who need a single pair of trousers covering multiple certified protection needs without sacrificing comfort.
The outer fabric is inherently flame-resistant, so the protection is built into the fibre itself rather than a coating that wears off. A lightweight lining adds comfort during long shifts, while reinforcements made from CORDURA®, Kevlar® and Protal® at the knees, along with a double fabric layer in the pockets, noticeably extend the garment's working life. The trousers are entirely metal-free and PFAS-free, with plastic fastenings throughout, making them suitable for ATEX-classified areas and safe for industrial laundering at 60°C.
The certification package is extensive: EN ISO 11612 covers protection against heat and flame, EN 1149 provides antistatic properties, and IEC 61482-2 rates protection against the thermal effects of electric arc flash, reaching APC 2 on the lined sections. EN 13034 protects against liquid chemicals, EN ISO 20471 Class 2 ensures good visibility in traffic and low-light conditions, and EN 14404 makes the knee area suitable for kneeling work. Testing to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 further confirms that the fabric has been checked for harmful substances.
