The Blaklader Inherent women's trousers are designed for women working in environments that demand serious protection without sacrificing comfort. The fit is tailored to the female body, and the raised back waistband with side elastic keeps the trousers securely in place during movement. This makes them a purpose-built alternative to men's protective trousers rather than a downsized version of one.
The fabric blend of modacrylic, cotton, FR polyamide and aramid with an antistatic component results in a soft, supple ripstop material that feels comfortable against the skin despite its protective role. The surface is water- and dirt-repellent, which keeps the trousers easier to maintain on demanding job sites, and the garment is entirely metal-free, with plastic buttons and zippers throughout. Tested for industrial laundering to EN ISO 15797, the fabric withstands up to 50 wash cycles while retaining its protective properties.
The certifications cover a wide range of hazards: EN ISO 11612 protects against heat and flame, EN ISO 11611 is aimed at welding work, EN 61482-2 guards against the thermal effects of an electric arc, EN 13034 offers limited protection against certain chemicals, and EN 1149-5 provides antistatic properties that help dissipate electrostatic charge. In practice, this adds up to comprehensive protection for trades where heat, flame, arc flash or static buildup are genuine risks.
Pre-shaped knees with knee pad pockets accessible from below, adjustable leg hems and practical touches such as a detachable ID pocket make these trousers suited to daily wear for electricians, welders and other tradeswomen who rely on protective clothing at work. Reflective details on the legs and leg pockets add extra visibility in low-light conditions.
