This long-sleeve shirt from Blaklader is cut specifically for women and designed for anyone working in roles with heat, arc-flash or static electricity risks. The feminine fit gives a noticeably better shape than standard unisex protective wear, without compromising on protection. A round neckline, side slits and ribbed cuffs make it a garment that layers easily under or over other workwear throughout the shift.
The fabric blends modacrylic, cotton, aramid, polyamide and an antistatic fibre, and it is inherently flame-resistant, meaning the protection is built into the fibres themselves rather than applied as a coating that washes out over time. The knitted interlock construction at 250 g/m² feels soft against the skin while still holding up to demanding daily wear. Care is straightforward, a 40°C wash is sufficient, while bleaching, dry cleaning, ironing and tumble drying should all be avoided to keep the protective properties intact.
The certifications cover several hazards at once: EN ISO 20471 Class 1 provides visible high-vis protection on roads and construction sites, EN ISO 11612 guards against heat and flames, EN 61482-2 with an ATPV rating of 13.1 cal/cm² is built for arc-flash protection during electrical work, and EN 1149-5 dissipates static charge safely. The fabric also delivers UV protection rated UPF 40+ under EN 13758-2, useful for outdoor work under strong sun.
