This thin wool hat from Blaklader is designed to be worn underneath a helmet without adding bulk or restricting fit. It stays flexible and close to the head, so the helmet sits securely while the hat itself stays in place. Thanks to its heat retention and distribution properties, it works well as an extra layer during cold outdoor work.
The fabric blend of wool, modacrylic and a small share of antistatic fibres, knitted in a merino interlock, gives a soft feel against the skin and makes the hat suitable to wear as a base layer for the head. At 225 g/m² the fabric is dense enough for warmth without feeling heavy under other protective gear. The certification labels are placed on the outside, so they can be checked without causing irritation against the scalp.
Certification to EN ISO 14116 confirms limited flame spread, an important safety factor for work involving sparks or heat exposure. EN 1149-5 additionally verifies antistatic properties, reducing the risk of electrostatic charge build-up. Together, these make the hat a practical addition wherever flame-retardant clothing is already required.
