The mix of knitted fleece, Cordura and softshell is a deliberate choice rather than a random combination of fabrics. Cordura reinforces the shoulders and elbows, exactly the areas that take the most rubbing and wear during physical work, while the softshell panel running from the back of the elbow down to the hip keeps the fit flexible where you need to move. The same softshell material lines the chin guard at the zip, so the fastener sits more comfortably against the skin.
The design is equally practical in its details. The stand-up collar hides a removable hood with a drawcord, ready to pull out when the weather turns and easy to tuck away when it is not needed.
