The balaclava is knitted from a blend of modacrylic, cotton, aramid, polyamide and an antistatic fibre, at a weight of 250 g/m². This fibre blend is inherently flame-resistant and antistatic, meaning the protection is built into the fabric itself rather than applied as a coating that can wear off or wash out. The interlock knit sits close to the head without feeling restrictive and stays comfortable when worn underneath a helmet. Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification confirms the fabric has also been tested for harmful substances.

The protection is backed by recognised standards: EN ISO 14116 confirms the fabric's limited flame spread, relevant for anyone working near open flame or hot processes. EN 1149-5 confirms the antistatic performance, reducing the risk of electrostatic discharge, for example in potentially explosive atmospheres.
