The Blaklader Shell Trousers are an outer layer built for anyone who works outdoors and needs to stay dry when the weather turns. They're designed to go straight over your regular work trousers, with a leg-end zip that makes them quick to pull on and off, and an elastic waistband at the back that keeps them in place even when you're moving around on the job. The waist closes with a combination of zip and button, while the pre-shaped legs give a fit that doesn't ride up or rub.
The outer fabric is a coated Oxford polyester that blocks wind and rain while staying light at 200 g/m². The seams are taped rather than stitched, removing the weak points that usually let water in on rainwear. A partial mesh lining adds ventilation, so the trousers don't turn into a sauna even after hours of wear.
Certification to EN 343, Class 3.3, confirms the fabric has been tested for both water penetration resistance and water vapour resistance - in practical terms, that means the trousers stay watertight in sustained rain while still letting some body moisture escape instead of trapping it. Reflective details on the leg add extra visibility in poor light.
