The RUNNEX® activeOrthopedic ESD platform material serves as the base for custom-made orthopedic insoles fitted into safety footwear. It is designed for anyone who needs individually adapted footwear for health reasons but still relies on the safety features of their work shoes. Supplied in three sizes, the platform material can be precisely shaped by orthopedic specialists into finished insoles.
The platform consists of a 4 mm foam core with a cover in the RUNNEX® design. The foam is made from recycled foam waste combined with a binder and a carbon content, while the cover fabric is polyester with an added carbon share. This combination gives the material a springy yet supportive feel underfoot and makes it electrically dissipative without feeling bulky or rigid.
Thanks to the carbon content in both the cover and the foam, the platform material is ESD-safe, meaning it safely discharges static electricity in a controlled way. This matters on workstations where electronic components or flammable substances are sensitive to static discharge. The material is also antibacterially treated, which helps keep the foot climate fresh.
The platform material may only be used in RUNNEX® safety shoes that are certified according to DGUV rule 112-191 for orthopedic insoles. This makes it a fitting choice for orthopedic shoemakers and specialist workshops adapting certified safety footwear for workers who require insoles, for example in industrial, trade, or ESD-sensitive environments.
