The Tyvek® 500 Xpert coverall in size 2XL (62/64) is built for anyone who needs reliable full-body protection when working with hazardous substances, whether in industry, laboratories, or cleaning and remediation work. The ergonomic cut with its generous gusset and specially shaped hood keeps the suit comfortable even during extended wear and when combined with a respirator.
The fabric is 100% polyethylene in the well-established HDPE Tyvek® quality. In practice, this means a lightweight suit that is still highly tear-resistant, along with good breathability since air and water vapour can pass through the material, so heat builds up less than with comparable coated fabrics. Features such as the taped, not sewn, waist elastic, the latex-free elastication at the wrists and ankles, and the self-securing zip with an oversized pull tab make putting the suit on and taking it off easy even while wearing gloves, while the externally stitched seams add extra durability.
In terms of protection, the suit covers a wide range of hazards: it is particle-tight against solid, airborne particles (type 5) and offers limited protection against liquid chemical splashes (type 6), plus protection against contamination from radioactive particles and against blood and viruses. The antistatic finish matters wherever electrostatic discharge poses a risk. As PSA category 3, the suit belongs to the class of protective equipment designed to guard against irreversible harm to health, which means it has to meet correspondingly strict requirements.
The Tyvek® 500 Xpert is typically used in the chemical industry, asbestos remediation, pharmaceutical and laboratory work, and healthcare settings, wherever contact with hazardous liquids, particles, or biological substances is possible. The suit is supplied in a pack of 100, making it a practical choice for regular operational use.
