The RT40 is a hi-vis pilot jacket built for anyone working outdoors who needs to be seen clearly, whether that's on rail tracks or by the roadside. Its classic cut and sturdy construction make it a jacket designed for everyday wear on the job, not just occasional use.
It's made from a hardwearing polyester-cotton fabric finished with Texpel™ treatment, which repels both dirt and water. In practice, that means stains and moisture are less likely to soak in, so the jacket keeps a decent appearance even after regular outdoor use. All stress points are bar-tacked, so the seams hold up to frequent use of the three pockets and the daily routine of putting the jacket on and taking it off. A side elastic waistband adds freedom of movement without the jacket riding up or sitting loosely.
On the safety side, the RT40 is certified to EN ISO 20471 Class 3, the highest visibility class for this type of workwear – the reflective tape and bright colour help ensure the wearer is spotted early, even in poor light, and the certification holds up after 50 washes. It also meets RIS 3279-TOM, the standard required for rail industry work, though this applies to the orange colourway only. The fabric also carries a UPF 40+ rating, blocking 98% of UV rays, which makes a real difference during long days outside.
That combination makes the RT40 a strong fit for track work, road construction and other rail or roadside jobs where high visibility and rugged build quality both matter. It's available up to size 3XL.
