The knee pad pockets for the "grizzlyskin IRON" work shorts are a patented design created specifically for this shorts range, making kneeling work noticeably easier on the job. Anyone who spends long hours on their knees, such as flooring, tiling, or installation work, benefits from a construction that not only protects but also keeps the back of the knees well ventilated. The matching knee pads are sold separately and simply zip into place.
The pockets share the same polyester and Lyocell (Tencel®) fabric blend used throughout the shorts, giving a soft, skin-friendly feel that holds up to a full day's wear. The lower pocket hem and the knee pocket itself are reinforced with CORDURA®, so they cope well with repeated kneeling on rough surfaces. The double-stitched hem at the trouser leg, complete with an integrated zip for easy extension, also prevents friction between skin and zipper, adding a further layer of comfort during demanding work.
Combined with the matching Grizzlyskin knee pads, the system delivers certified knee protection to EN 14404, Type 2, Performance Level 1. This standard confirms that the pads withstand the strain of kneeling on hard or uneven ground and effectively shield the knees from pressure and point loads.
