The Swante children's rain jacket is designed for kids from size 86/92 to 146/152 and made for exactly those moments when it's wet, windy or generally unpleasant outside – on the way to school, playing outdoors or out and about in the rain. Its bright yellow colour also helps children stand out better in road traffic.
The outer material is PU on a polyester backing, weighing around 190 g/m². This combination makes the jacket stretchy and comfortable to move in without compromising on protection. The seams are welded rather than sewn, and the reflective stripes are welded on too instead of stitched, meaning there are no extra seams where moisture could get in. The concealed front zip with additional press studs, the removable hood and the elasticated cuffs with hook-and-loop fastening are all easy to handle, even for small hands. Back ventilation helps prevent moisture building up underneath the waterproof shell.
With a water column of 8,000 mm, the jacket is windproof and waterproof and copes well with prolonged rain. It meets EN ISO 13688, the standard covering general requirements for protective clothing, as well as EN 343 class 4/1/X, which relates to protection against rain penetration and water vapour resistance. It also complies with EN 17353 type B2, a standard for high-visibility clothing – a real advantage when children are out in traffic or in poor light.
