This inherent flame-resistant hood is designed as a matching accessory for the Blaklader shell jackets 4053, 4060 and 4446, aimed at anyone who wants reliable weather protection and safety not just on the body but on the head as well. It attaches to the jacket via plastic snap fasteners and can be adjusted to fit individual head shapes thanks to the adjustable velcro fastening. Being entirely metal-free, it also suits work environments where metal components on clothing need to be avoided.
The fabric blend of modacrylic, cotton, polyamide, polyurethane and aramid with a ripstop weave makes the hood tough while still comfortable to wear. Its lamination provides waterproofing up to 12,000 mm water column and keeps out wind reliably, while the breathable construction with a Ret value of 8.15 helps prevent moisture building up on the inside. At 290 g/m², the material still feels pleasantly light on the head. The antistatic finish also helps reduce static build-up during everyday work.
As an inherently flame-resistant component, the hood protects against wind, wet and cold, rounding out the protective performance of the matching shell jackets. Reflective bands at selected points improve visibility in poor light conditions, which is a genuine safety benefit on roads or building sites with vehicle traffic. The hood is certified to Oeko-Tex Standard 100, confirming that the textiles used have been tested for harmful substances.
