The Gunnar pilot jacket is built for anyone who needs to stay visible and warm while working outdoors in changing weather. Thanks to its detachable collar, removable sleeves and zip-out pile lining, it converts between a vest, a lightweight jacket and a fully lined winter jacket, so one garment covers several conditions throughout the year.
The outer fabric, a cotton-polyester blend at around 250 g/m², feels sturdy without being bulky, and its water-repellent coating helps light rain bead off rather than soak in. The polyester lining and pile fleece add warmth inside, while the one-way front zip and ribbed cuffs at the sleeves and hem keep the jacket close to the body and block draughts. Two chest pockets with a phone pocket, two hip pockets, a sleeve pocket and an inside pocket give plenty of room for tools, a phone and personal items.
As certified workwear to EN ISO 20471 Class 3, the jacket meets the highest visibility class under this standard, making the wearer clearly recognisable even in poor light or from a distance; if the collar is removed and only the vest is worn, it meets Class 2 with correspondingly reduced but still standard-compliant visibility. The additional EN ISO 13688 standard sets general requirements for protective clothing and reflects solid overall construction.
This makes the Gunnar well suited to road work, traffic control, warehouse and logistics environments, and any outdoor setting where staying visible near traffic or machinery matters.
