This high-vis hood from Blaklader is designed as an add-on for compatible jackets and can be removed whenever it is not needed. It suits anyone working outdoors in changeable weather who still needs to stay visible, from roadside jobs to construction sites. Thanks to the reflective details on the hood, visibility is maintained even when the jacket itself is not in a hi-vis colour.
The outer fabric is coated polyester Oxford, waterproof to 15,000 mm and windproof at the same time, yet it does not feel stuffy to wear thanks to its breathability, which lets moisture escape rather than build up. Inside, a flexible Air-Mesh lining sits comfortably against the head and feels noticeably lighter than a stiff inner layer. Taped seams keep water from working its way in at the stitching, which keeps the hood reliable even in sustained rain.
The hood is certified to Oeko-Tex Standard 100, meaning the material has been tested for harmful substances, a practical reassurance for a piece worn so close to the skin. It is built to fit a range of Blaklader jackets, from lightweight shell jackets to winter coats such as styles 4462, 4828, 4827 and 4780, making it a useful addition for tradespeople, drivers, and road and construction workers who spend their days outdoors.
