Flame Protection Balaclava Fokke

The Fokke balaclava from Feldtmann is built for anyone who needs extra protection from heat, flames and electrical hazards underneath their headgear. Its two-layer construction keeps it comfortable against the skin even when worn under a helmet for extended periods, without compromising on protective performance. Available in two size ranges, it can be matched to different head shapes for a better fit.

The outer material is a blend of modacrylic, cotton and a small proportion of carbon fibre, giving a fabric weight of around 210 g/m². This combination results in a soft, skin-friendly feel while the carbon content supports the fabric's conductive properties. That makes the balaclava suitable for extended wear, for example underneath safety helmets in industrial settings.

The balaclava meets several protection standards, covering a number of different hazards. EN ISO 11612 confirms protection against heat and flame, with the A1, B1 and C1 ratings describing the tested performance levels against limited flame spread, convective heat and contact heat. EN 1149-5 confirms the fabric's antistatic finish, relevant wherever electrostatic build-up needs to be avoided. EN 61482-2 with APC 1 certifies protection against the thermal effects of an electric arc, relevant for work on or near live electrical equipment. EN ISO 13688 additionally confirms compliance with the general requirements for protective clothing.

This combination of standards makes the Fokke well suited to electrical work, plant construction and industrial environments with an increased risk of fire or arc flash, anywhere head and neck need extra protection under a helmet.
