The Blaklader ELITE Asphalt safety shoe was developed specifically for working with hot asphalt and is aimed at road and construction workers who need reliable protection against extreme heat underfoot. The wide fit combined with the Freelock closure and hook-and-loop straps allows for quick on and off without compromising fit, a real advantage when moving frequently between vehicle and site.
The full-grain leather upper is tough and durable, while the smooth nitrile rubber outsole withstands temperatures up to 300°C and is also oil- and heat-resistant. A heat-protective foil inside the sole adds further insulation against rising warmth from the ground. The anatomically shaped insole in soft PU with a moisture-absorbing textile surface keeps the shoe comfortable through long shifts, and the polyester lining helps maintain a dry foot climate.
The shoe meets EN ISO 20345:2022 in safety class S2PL FO HRO HI SC. In practical terms, this means protection against water penetration, a composite toe cap reinforced with TPU, a textile penetration-resistant midsole to PL standard, and a slip-resistant, oil- and heat-resistant outsole that holds up even on direct contact with hot surfaces. Antistatic properties and reflective details add extra safety for everyday work in road construction.
This makes the shoe well suited to asphalt and road construction as well as general building sites, where heat, moisture, and mechanical stress often occur together. The unisex fit, complemented by dedicated women's lasts in sizes 35 to 39, ensures a good fit for smaller foot sizes too.
