These craftsman shorts are cut specifically for a women's fit and designed for women who work physically on site, in electrical trades or in the garden and don't want to compromise on freedom of movement. The slightly thinner 4-way stretch fabric moves with the body during bending or overhead work instead of restricting it. Practical additions for daily use include the detachable holster pockets, which can be fitted or removed depending on the task, along with a ruler pocket and hammer loops on both sides.
The outer fabric is made from 92% polyamide and 8% elastane in a double-woven construction weighing 230 g/m². This results in a fabric that feels lighter than classic workwear material while still holding up well thanks to the weave structure. CORDURA® reinforcement has been added at the points that see the most wear in daily use, namely the front pockets, back pockets, ruler pocket and leg pockets, giving noticeably better resistance to abrasion. The crotch seam is double-stitched, which improves durability at one of the most heavily stressed points of the shorts.
The pocket layout is equally well thought out: the back pockets and ruler pocket are gusseted for extra volume, and the ruler pocket also includes a knife holder and pen pocket. A D-ring on the waistband allows tools or keys to be attached, while a plastic zip at the crotch and metal buttons round off the construction. The detachable tool pockets can be complemented as needed with the separately available tool pocket 2170.
This makes the shorts a good fit for tradeswomen, electricians, sheet metal workers, gardeners and warehouse staff who need a mobile, well-equipped pair of work shorts for warm conditions or summer work. A men's version is available under item number 1702.
