The Anstosskappe-EN Net from Feldtmann looks like an ordinary baseball cap but hides a rigid ABS shell underneath the fabric. It suits anyone who regularly deals with low doorways, protruding edges or beams but doesn't need a full safety helmet. Visually it stays low-key, while functionally it offers noticeably more than a standard cap.
The outer cap is made from a cotton-polyester blend, which feels comfortable against the skin and breathes well throughout the day. Side ventilation panels made of mesh material add extra airflow, which becomes noticeable during longer wear or in warmer conditions. A stepless Velcro adjustment at the back lets the cap be fitted precisely to head sizes between 58 and 63 cm, and at around 170 grams it stays pleasantly light. The roughly 7 cm peak also helps shield against glare and light rain.
The cap is certified to EN 812, a standard for industrial bump caps that protects against head injuries caused by bumping into fixed or moving objects. Unlike a safety helmet, it is not designed to protect against falling objects, but rather for everyday use in environments with bump hazards such as low ceilings, shelving or machine parts.
This makes the bump cap well suited to warehouse and logistics work, maintenance and assembly tasks, and any job where lightweight, comfortable head protection is needed without the bulk of a full hard hat.
