The choice of materials reflects the demands of rescue work: the pulley and flange are made of aluminium, the sheave of stainless steel, and the plate, karabiner and axle pin of steel. This combination delivers a torsion-resistant, load-bearing connection that withstands the mechanical stresses of rescue operations without adding excessive weight.
